No matter how well designed is a sport sedan, it's always a compromise. It is higher for easier access for passengers, which means a high center of gravity and weight transfer issues related to that. Fire doors can improve access for rear passengers, but extra holes in the rigid unibody structure down. And size because of the extra height and design means more weight, even compromising performance and fuel economy as well. Lighter is better

The case in question, and only one of several in the range, the Genesis Coupe. Hyundai used his advice to major Japanese automakers and U.S. performance in the $ 20 to $ 30,000 class. Or even the kind of $ 30-40k. The Genesis Coupe is equipped with an optical 2 +2 coupe based on the Hyundai Genesis sedan, but shorter. He has the right style for maximum performance for minimum money: the engine, a 2.0-liter turbo four or naturally aspirated 3.8-liter V6 is up front and drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed (for the 2.0T) or six-speed automatic. FWD does not speak. Yes, it replaces the old front wheel drive Tiburon, but the Genesis Coupe is a much more serious piece of machinery

If the idea of high-performance, Hyundai will make you laugh, you really need to get out of the past. After a difficult start to the American market in 1980, Hyundai has improved its products, to the point where its cars and crossovers are now as good as or better than competitors - or even the top end.

Hyundai shows no signs of letting up on the hitting streak it's been on lately, and the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is further proof that these guys just don't believe in an off-season. Although it just debuted a few model years ago, the Genesis coupe is nonetheless going to sport a few improvements for 2012. A mild exterior refresh will bring slightly revised styling front and rear, but the big news is under the hood.

More muscle is always welcome in the sport coupe segment, and the Genesis coupe sees higher output for both the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 (2.0T models) and the 3.8-liter V6 (3.8 models). The V6 benefits from the addition of direct injection and a higher compression ratio. It's the same engine that'll see duty in the 2012 Genesis V6 sedan, where it's stated to make 333 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque -- increases of 27 hp and 25 lb-ft, respectively. Specific numbers have yet to be disclosed for the turbo-4, but we'd expect only moderate increases, as Hyundai likely wants to minimize the impact on its fuel economy ratings.

We expect transmission choices to stand pat, with the 2.0T offering a choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic and the 3.8 offering six speeds in both its manual and automatic gearboxes. Both automatics also offer manual gearchange capability.

The 2012 Hyundai Genesis coupe is set to debut early in 2012 at the Detroit auto show. Check back for complete buying advice and driving impressions.
The 2012 Genesis Coupe is an exercise in balance: brains and brawn, technology and hardware, thoughtfulness and raw strength. What that balance provides to the driver is quick, agile, powerful performance on the road – complemented by a range of amenities usually found only in much more expensive sports cars.

Underpinning the Genesis Coupe is its rear-wheel drive architecture: a layout that provides exceptional weight balance for superior handling, with power directed to the road for exhilarating acceleration. Reining in the Genesis Coupe’s available 300+ horsepower are available race-proven Brembo® brakes, while a Torsen® (V6 & GT package only) limited-slip differential gives you added control on uncertain surfaces.

Inside, thoughtful amenities abound, like standard power windows and door locks, cruise control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, a Bluetooth® Handsfree Phone System as well as available paddle shifters, a push-button start and much more.

The sporty Genesis Coupe is in a category of its own. Take one for a drive and find out why.
he production Genesis Coupe was officially debuted at the 2008 New York International Auto Show, showcasing a red and a silver model. The unveiling was accompanied by a demonstration of the coupe's abilities with powerslides and burnouts.

A lime-colored 3.8L Genesis Coupe was shown at the 2008 BUSAN International Motor Show. This car was badged as a Genesis Coupe 380GT.
The current Hyundai Genesis Coupewent on sale in United States dealerships back on February 26, 2009. It was a pretty cool sports car powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC inline four-cylinder that delivered 212 HP and 217 lb.-ft. of torque, but for 2011, Hyundai is trying to make it even better by adding a new version: the Coupe 3.8 R-Spec. This new coupe is powered by a 3.8 liter V6 engine that delivers 306 HP, which is obviously better than the previous model, but apparently, that addition simply wasn’t enough for Hyundai and 2012 will bring even more changes for the sports car.

Hyundai announced a while ago that the 2012 model would receive both exterior and interior updates, but the biggest changes will be made under the hood. Hyundai is preparing a new 5.0 liter V8 engine that will deliver 429 HP. With this new engine the future Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be a direct competitor for the Ford Mustang. The new version is expect to be revealed in mid-2011.

UPDATE 09/16/2011: Hyundai Blog has released an image they are claiming is the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe. This image reveals a new design language clearly taking inspiration from the recently launched Veloster. Great new design or copycat crap? Let us know in the comments section below!

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe was the first model to adopt Hyundai’s new design language. However, for 2012 the company will go a little bit further. The new Genesis Coupe will be sportier thanks to a new front grille, air intakes, and a modified rear. For the interior, Hyundai is preparing new color choices and better quality materials.
The 2012 Genesis Coupe is powered by a new 5.0 liter Tau engine that is a bored-out, direct-injection version of the 4.6-liter V-8 currently found in the Genesis sedan. The bore goes up to 96 mm, an increase of 4, while the stroke stays the same at 87 mm. The result is an estimated output of 429 hp at 6500 rpm and 376 lb-ft at 5000 rpm with an 11.5:1 compression ratio. The new engine will be mated to an eight-speed automatic designed and manufactured by Hyundai.

Inside Line has reported that the 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe will make its world debut next year at the Detroit Auto Show with a revised V6 engine. The engine’s output is said to be increased to a total of 333 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque, but changes for the 2.0T are unknown at this point.
