"Infiniti prides itself on offering something different to each of its model ranges, but the Infiniti EX37 is easily the most different of all," said Jim Wright, Vice President Infiniti Europe.
"It 'the perfect combination of a compact Crossover and a stylish coupe, nothing like it on the market ... although we are sure that the manufacturers competing in a hurry to try to follow their variations on the theme."

But there are more important than the concept Infiniti EX37 innovative. Prepare the same standards of Infiniti models, the Infiniti EX37 offers an exceptional combination of elegance, style, performance and technology.
This is the first production car in the world to benefit from the advanced Around View Monitor system, which gives the driver a commanding view of the vehicle while it is parked. Another standard feature is Hyundai's unique "self-healing" Scratch Shield paint.
Developed by the same fluid and powerful 3.7-liter V6 as the Infiniti G37, the maximum speed is 240 km / h (149 mph) while 0-100 km / h in 6.4 seconds.

There are two versions of the innovative crossover on offer - the well equipped and Infiniti EX37 EX37 GT with leather luxury and power front seats with memory function.
"Because this is an offer versatile, the Infiniti EX37 will attract a wide audience. It 'the perfect tool for a young family, or an athlete who loves skiing or cycling. Complaint coupe owner who needs more space for his car, but is not willing to sacrifice style to do it, "says Bastien Schupp, Marketing Director, Infiniti Europe.

The production model EX35 was revealed in 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.[3]

Production version was sold in North American market in 2007 as 2008 models.

Infiniti is to Nissan what Lexus is to Toyota, if you didn't already know. The upmarket Japanese brand is already a success in the US and finally it has made its way to Europe. And we should be very pleased.

The EX falls in the middle of the current three-model range and the most difficult thing is to pigeonhole exactly what it is. From the pictures it looks like an SUV yet in real life it has a lower profile than any regular 4x4.

We've quickly come around to agreeing with Infiniti's proposal that the EX37 is, in fact, more coupe than anything else. Sure, it sits higher than other coupes but the packaging and performance are right on the button.

What's also apparent is this Infiniti is nothing like a Lexus. Toyota's posh brand seems dull alongside this and other Infinitis. The interior appointment of the EX37 is more Bentley and Aston Martin than Mercedes-Benz.

The other key factor is its engine. Early in 2010 there's no choice, just one petrol engine, a 320hp 3.7-litre V6. That's BMW M3 power of just a few years ago. It also goes some way to explain the £37k list price.

It does the job very nicely too. 62mph comes up in 6.4 seconds and the top speed is just shy of 150mph. The EX37 doesn't feel quite that quick, so insulated are you from the engine noise, but there's an undeniable sense that this isn't like any SUV you've driven previously.

The standard transmission is a seven-speed auto that adapts to your driving style, but if that isn't enough, it can be slipped sideways into Sport for a more aggressive shift pattern. It gives the Infiniti a pleasingly more aggressive edge.

A small surprise is that there are no paddle shifts. Not that we think most drivers use them that much, but we are talking serious performance with this EX37 so it's a surprising omission.

The snow mode dealt with any remaining drama in this winter's whiteout conditions, though in reality the high-performance tyres can never really offer full off-road potential.

Pitched against coupes like the Audi A5 Sportback or the more focussed BMW 3 Series, the EX37 has too much weight and height to match their agility, but it still does amazingly well.

Much of that is down to the car-like double wishbone and multi-link suspension design front and rear. Four-wheel-drive helps grip levels too, and there's entertainment to be found if you don't expect the extremes of handling prowess.

The other factor is how easy this EX37 is to drive. From the keyless doors and ignition, to the effortless way it slips from gear to gear and the accurate steering, the Infiniti has appeal for shopping trips as well as in performance situations.

Like most coupes it is relatively firmly sprung, but the ride is rarely less then comfortable.

Yet despite all the performance, it's this Infiniti's interior that's the real winner here. The two-tone leather on the fascia swoops elegantly from side to side with the design following through into the doors.

This is quality stuff, with expensive looking double stitching on the seams and a luxurious plumpness that follows through to the seats. Driver and passenger get electric multi-adjustments to their seat position, with real comfort readily obtainable.

The powered steering wheel and mirror adjustments are more of a mystery, moving to a new position as the ignition is switched off but never coming back to the original when the engine is started again. The handbook doesn't have an answer.

Whether the EX37 is roomier enough elsewhere depends on whether you buy into the 4x4 coupe idea. If you do then there's above average room for two adults in the rear and a decent boot.

But compared with something like the BMW X6 or Porsche Cayenne, space is tight in the Infiniti, with a particularly shallow luggage area.

There are power folding and rising rear-seat backrests though, which is a fun trick even though they fold onto the rear seats with a hell of a thump - a problem if you left the eggs there.

The tailgate - not power anything - needs more forceful struts to lift it clear of your head rather than needing to be pushed up to avoid cranial injury.
Boasting avant-garde coupé looks and a practical, roomy interior with the commanding driving position and All-Wheel Drive traction expected from an SUV, the Infiniti EX37 really does provide the best of all worlds.

"Infiniti prides itself on offering something different with each of its model ranges, but the Infiniti EX37 is easily the most different of all," says Jim Wright, Vice President, Infiniti Europe.

"It's the perfect fusion of a compact Crossover and a stylish coupé: there's nothing quite like it on the market today... though we are certain that rival manufacturers will quickly try to follow suit with their own variations on the theme."

But there's more to the remarkable Infiniti EX37 than a groundbreaking concept. Built to the same exacting standards as all Infiniti models, Infiniti EX37 offers an exceptional combination of elegance, style, performance and technology.

It is the first production vehicle in the world to benefit from the advanced Around View Monitor system that gives the driver a bird's eye view of the vehicle while it's being parked. Another standard feature is Infiniti's unique 'self-healing' scratch shield paint.

Powered by the same smooth and potent 3.7-litre V6 as the Infiniti G37, top speed is 240 km/h (149 mph), while 0-100 km/h takes 6.4 seconds.

There are two versions of the innovative crossover on offer - the generously equipped Infiniti EX37 and the more luxurious EX37 GT with leather upholstery and power front seats with memory function.

Because it is such a versatile offering, Infiniti EX37 will attract a wide audience. It's the perfect vehicle for a young family, or a sports enthusiast who enjoys skiing or cycling. It will appeal to the coupé owner who needs more space in his or her car but isn't prepared to sacrifice style to get it," says Bastien Schupp, Marketing Director, Infiniti Europe.

Exterior styling

Despite its Crossover status, Infiniti EX37 has been designed following traditional Coupé lines. That means a stretched wheelbase, long bonnet, short overhangs and a sharply tapering roofline. It is noticeably lower than its key rivals which helps to accentuate its low centre of gravity and lends more credence to its Crossover status.

Although longer than most of the rivals with its 2800mm wheelbase, its compact overall shape help give Infiniti EX37 the best aerodynamic positioning in the sector.

Above all, though, it's the balanced harmony of its lines that help Infiniti EX37 claim its unique place in a crowded market. Its designers have skilfully blended enough signature elements - such as the double arch grille, wave form bonnet and L-shaped headlamps - to ensure it's an obvious member of the Infiniti family. Yet the overall effect is quite unlike anything in the range.

A bold and masculine stance contrasts with the flowing curves over the high wheel arches and the dramatic slope of the roofline. The rear has a simple, almost three dimensional, appearance combining an energetic shape with elegant styling features such as the chrome door handles, LED rear lights and integrated rear spoiler.

A feeling of sophistication comes with the use of darkened privacy glass for the rear windows, the elegant eight-spoke 18 inch alloy wheels and fog lamps which are set deep into the front aero bumper.
