as a brand did most of the major jump in the charts, jumping 12places to finish sixth. Auto Express editor David Johns said: "Congratulations to Hyundai. This is a huge breakthrough for the brand over the years, the owners told us how their cars are reliable and good value they are too, but thisis the final .. demonstrate that they can now match that of real satisfaction. "It's not just readers Auto Express think the i30 is good to have? Readers of Which? Also voted as the most reliable car in middle APOL published in late 2009.

Completed by over 23,000 drivers, the pilot study byAuto Power Express is compiled best-selling UK car magazine weekly, and is considered the definitive survey of UK car reliability i30 andsatisfaction. The beat all other brands including a number of prestigious brands last year's winner, the Jaguar XF. For the first time a Korean manufacturer has won nine-year history of the survey.

The i30 shot straight to the number one slot in the Driver Power Top 100 to be named the most satisfying car to own by the people who should reallyknow, the drivers who run them.
The Hyundai i30 is a small family car by South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Company. The i30 shares its platform with the Kia cee'd, available as a five-door hatchback or estate, with a choice of three petrol and two diesel engines, either with manual or automatic transmissions.

The i30 wagon (estate) is marketed alongside the fourth-generation Hyundai Elantra in the U.S. and Canada as the Elantra Touring.

The second-generation i30 is being introduced as September, 2011 at the Frankfurt auto show.

The i30cw was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March, 2007, and released in late 2007 in Europe and Australia. The i30cw (a.k.a. i30 estate, also known as Elantra Touring) was released in South Korea at the Seoul Motor Show in 2007,[8] and is marketed worldwide, including in North America for the 2009 model year, as the "Elantra Touring". It is a larger, more roomy version of the i30 hatchback. The i30 cw's maximum cargo volume is 65 cubic feet (1,800 L).

For 2012, the 2012 Elantra Touring Wagon comes with a 2.0L I4 producing 138hp and 136ft. lbs. getting 23 MPG in the City and 30 MPG on the Highway. The Elantra Touring comes equipped with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.[
And so the i30 uses very curvy lines that are pleasant to the eye and relatively conservative. A chrome blade across the top of the front upper air intake, and the large shapely headlights give a tidy face. The tail lights are tall, vertical and pointed, and give an appealing finish to the rear end of the car

The whole car feels strong and solid. The doors close snugly and the interior mouldings fit together beautifully. The front facia and door-trim upper sections are covered in high-quality padded plastic, and the seat fabric is stylish and has a durable feeling. Inside the cabin of the Hyundai I30, a pleasant amount of chrome detailing has been added to give a pricier interior ambience. This is a cabin that passengers will enjoy being in. Front and rear seating is comfy and supportive, which makes for easy long journeys. Closer to the driver’s attention are the dials and instrument panelling, which have striking blue graphics and look sophisticated enough to give the Hyundai i30 a true sense of class. The driver’s stance behind the wheel is easily adjusted for comfort because the driver’s seat has an excellent range of adjustment for both the seat and the steering wheel.

With one of the longest wheelbases in its class, the Hyundai i30’s legroom and relaxed comfort is superb. Reviewing the internal spaces, you'll see that the boot is ample in volume and inside the cabin, there are plenty of storage spaces - including a decent-sized air-conditioned glove box (no more melted chocolate). There are three levels of interior trim. These are called Comfort, Style and Premium. Every model gets aluminium alloy wheels, ESP with traction control, an iPod/MP3 connection plus USB port, heated mirrors, a CD player, very efficient air conditioning, stereo controls on the steering wheel, front fog lights and four electric windows. Want more? Then the Style version adds leather to the steering wheel, seat edging and front centre armrest, plus 16" rather than 15" alloys and a tyre-pressure monitor. And if you go for the Premium model, you will enjoy great looking 17" wheels, reversing sensors, automatic air conditioning, electrically folding door mirrors, an electro-chromatic interior mirror, and full leather trimmed seating that is heated in the front.

Each of the Hyundai i30s moves quietly, and inspires confidence for the quicker driver - even though the overall suspension setup is for a softer and more compliant ride that nullifies bumps superbly. The I30 steering has a good feel. And the good feedback is due to a very well engineered electrically assisted steering system.

The Hyundai i30 offers two engines at the moment. These engines are the 2.0 litre petrol unit and the 1.6 CRDi diesel unit.   Power ratings show the 2.0 litre petrol to be a strong engine that delivers a healthy 105 kW at 6000 rpm.  With a torque figure of 186 Nm at 4600 rpm combined with Constant Variable Valve Timing technology you have an efficient and relaxed drive that is willing to be pushed hard when the need arises - just the way I like it.  The 1.6 litre diesel is particularly strong in the torque department with 255 Nm available between a large and useful 1900 - 2750 rpm. The Variable Geometry Turbo technology makes the little diesel superbly responsive and yet in manual form a staggering 4.2 litres per 100 kilometres can be achieved!  Both Hyundai i30 models are very capable of covering the miles in a relaxed and fuss-free fashion. In true diesel fashion, the point to point progress of the diesel variants of the Hyundai I30 on the open road is as rapid and every bit as progressive as the 2.0 litre petrol alternative. The flexible and frugal Hyundai 1.6 litre diesel is the engine that appeals to me. The 1.6 diesel manages an impressive 60 mpg on the official combined-cycle test carried out by Hyundai, and in this day and age when fuel prices are soaring, this is an excellent draw card.

Hyundais have improved so, so much over the years, and today, Hyundai safety is excellent. The Hyundai has all the usual safety equipment. Emergency Brake Assist, whiplash-reducing front headrests and front, side and curtain airbags are all standard. Electronic stability control is also standard on all models.

The i30 follows Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture design language and was designed at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre in Rüsselsheim, Germany. The i30 largely mimics the styling of the Sonata-based i40.

“The new-generation i30 is recognizable thanks to the Hyundai family face with its signature hexagonal-shaped front grille and the jewel-like design of the headlamps, together with distinctive daytime running lights. These lights present an angular shape within a more softly-edged recess, adding a strong personality to the vehicle, as well as a sense of refinement and luxury,” said Thomas Bürkle, chief designer for Hyundai in Europe.

Hyundai remains quiet on U.S. availability, but the i30 should arrive in European showrooms by year’s end.
Cars engineered by Korean companies have had a good record in reliability, and it's likely that the Hyundai I30 will continue this record even though some of the cars will come from the new Czech factory. Hyundai's market-leading five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty suggests that buyers can remain confident.  Hope you enjoyed this Hyundai I30 review

the Company plans to launch both diesel and petrol engines of i30 in Indian market. The specifications of both the engine are same. The i30 comes with a displacement of 1396cc, 4 Cylinder DOHC, Engine with the 5 Speed Manual Transmission gearbox.  The i30’s robust engine gives a maximum power of 107.5bhp at 6200 rpm and also a pulsating torque of 247 Nm at 137.2 Nm @ 5000 rpm without compromising on the safety. The engine built for the brave hearted with great power in their vehicle be it a retro or a highway it just takes off the road every time to all new driving experience.

The upcoming Hyundai i30 interior is likely to be designed in such a way which is suitable for younger generation; it has got an eye-catching beauty. The central attraction of the interior is the dashboard of the i30; it comes with wider dashboard with AC vents at both ends. It is powered by tilt steering that helps to driver to handle the car easily. It can accommodate 3 passengers in the rear side and two in front (including driver).  When it comes to luggage box you will get enormous room to carry precious things. The seats (including driver seat) are very broad and gives you the relaxation even in the long journeys.  All the seats are comes with seat belts, which make you to feel safe and all the passengers will get enough boot space with the features like dual front, side, and curtain airbags, active headrests, seatbelt pretensioning and seatbelt reminders.

You've got the nod from the bank manager and you've decided to see what's on offer in the small car market. There's more European-influenced designs than you can shake a gear stick at, drive away deals, free petrol offers and all sorts of the other enticements.

Make no mistake - small cars are big business.

The big names are likely to find their way onto your shortlist - Toyota Corolla, Mazda3, Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Lancer, Holden Astra. All of them are quality cars with smooth looks and rich heritages.

So what's this - The Hyundai i30? It's got no heritage, I've never seen one before, and there's nary a German engineer in sight. But you know what? It's a strong showing from Hyundai and with a keen price, impressive features and a new look inside and out, it'll make one of life's big decisions even more difficult.

Not more than half a dozen years ago informed buyers used to approach the Hyundai brand with caution. "Korean cars are cheap for a reason" people would say. But every year Hyundai cranks out better and better cars. They look smoother, they drive better, and the new i30 is no exception to this trend.

In the last few years Hyundai has been climbing the new car quality and reliability ladder as it improves its design and manufacturing processes. The Korean cars are always improving, and Hyundai has even confirmed that its next generation Tiburon sports coupe will be a proper sports car, with rear-wheel drive!
